Things That Harm The Marine Environment
The following pages show things that hurt our friends
in the sea. We can stop all these things from happening.
Tell your parents and friends about these things. If we work together, we can make the world a better place for everyone.
After You Have Colored The Seven Pages Below, Go To The
Help Our Ocean Life Page and see if you can match your

Responsible lobstermen replace damaged buoy lines. This greatly reduces the number of lost pots and the destruction of many helpless critters.

When boaters are aware and alert, collisions with manatees and other slow swimming or floating marine critters can be avoided.

Permanent boat moorings reduce the destruction of our coral reefs by eliminating anchor drag that can break and destroy years of growth.

Proper disposal and recycling helps prevent products from reaching the sea and causing harm to our playful friends.

Fishermen replace damaged nets to keep them intact. If sections of netting become adrift, many marine species could become entangled and lost.

Balloons and jellyfish look a lot alike to a sea turtle. Let's keep plastic bags and balloons from our rivers, bays and oceans.

SCUBA divers have a big responsibility to our ocean environment and all it's critters. See if you can list some harmful activities shown here. There is a list posted
here, but try to find them yourself before looking.
